It is my great pleasure to announce the publication of Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic), available as a free PDF at http://rbms.info/dcrm/dcrmc/. DCRM(C) can be used immediately for cataloging with the MARC 040 code “dcrmc.”

In addition to being included in a future release of Cataloger’s Desktop, the PCC BIBCO Standard Record (BSR) will also be updated to include DCRM(C).

I would also like to mention there will be a workshop, “Applying Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Cartographic),” offered on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the RBMS Conference being held in Coral Gables, Florida; more information can be found at http://conference16.rbms.info/workshops/.
