Volume 12, number 1 (March 2016) of the Journal of Map & Geography Libraries is now available online for your reading and learning experience!

This is the concluding issue of a 3-issue set based on the theme of "Geospatial Data Management, Curation, and Preservation", guest edited by Robert Downs, head of the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) at Columbia University. We are very grateful to the excellent work Robert did in setting things up initially, identifying and working with a large number of authors throughout a lengthy process, working closely and in a timely manner with the co-editors in communicating needs and issues and working to resolve the bumps along the way, AND providing an Editor's column with each issue. Bob's unique perspectives on the wide range of topics covered in these issues helped to ensure what we feel is a very successful outcome. But...that is up to our readers to decide, and is why I am sending out this announcement today, so that you can go and see for yourselves the timely, diverse, collaborative, and much-needed articles that appear not only in this new issue but also in the previous two (Volume 11, numbers 2 and 3, 2015).

Here is the link to our journal: http://www.tandfonline.com/toc/wmgl20/current, we sincerely hope that you take away useful information from one or more of the articles that can be applied in-house or across a consortium or beyond.

Finally, Kathy and I are always looking for new contributions to JMGL, and are willing to work with anyone who has even just an idea in mind -- on up to a draft of an article for us to peruse. Do not hesitate to contact us at the email address below, and, happy reading!

Sincerely,

Paige Andrew and Katherine Hart Weimer
