While LC has used .C3 in the past, I’ve used .D1, as wetlands are a kind of “biotic community.” It would be nice if the D section were developed a bit more, but then it would have to exclude some types of ecosystems
that fit elsewhere, such as forestry (K).

Subject: Subject number for wetlands
All,
I have a number of maps that show the distribution of wetlands in the U.S. and Canada. I’ve seen .C3 (Hydrology. Hydrogeology) used a lot for a subject number but to me this doesn’t seem right. If anything I thought maybe a subject number
under Biogeography. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dennis
