In our collection of maps I found a map with 29 war situation maps with French titles and registers which have been scanned and put on the Internet, see: http://www.geheugenvannederland.nl/en/geheugen/view?coll=ngvn&identifier=KONB16%3A533407583. The maps were not catalogued individually, which I have to do now.

They show battles from 1756-1759, as part of the 7 year war 1756-1763.

 

I’m trying to find the source publication of these maps. In left bottom outside the frame they are numbered 1 to 41 (though at least 12 are missing) and the total number may be higher. In right bottom outside the frame there is a statement like: “Année 175? Pour la page ???”. Either they have a title on top outside the frame or within the register (renvoy).

 

I have found maps with similar or almost exactly the same contents in e.g.:

 

Camps topographiques de la campagne de MDCCLVII, en Westphalie: commencée par mr. le maréchal d'Estre'es, continuée par mr. le duc de Richelieu, & finie par mgr. le comte de Clermont: avec le journal de ses operations, & quelques autres morceaux fort curieux / par le sr. But either the title of the maps is given in a cartouche or the register lacking, though the map may be exactly the same but showing more terrain (as this is covered in the present series with a register).

 

Does anybody recognize these particular maps and guide me to their source?
