How a Made-Up Intelligence Discipline Went Viral: Opportunities for Map Librarians and Archivists in Geospatial Intelligence

Our speaker will help us understand the push beyond geospatial toward GEOINT, defined as “. . . the derivation of information from imagery, geospatial data in all forms, and analytics”. GEOINT is expanding beyond the national security sector to play a critical role in the arena of business intelligence, logistics, marketing, agriculture, and data analytics. Additional background is available in this article and short video (both with the title, GeoINT Revolution).

Keith J. Masback

Mr. Masback is the Chief Executive Officer of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). He leads the Foundation in its unique mission to promote the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft and develop a stronger GEOINT Community among government, industry, academia, professional organizations and individuals whose mission focus is the development and application of GEOINT to address national security objectives.
