Edit to my previous email!

NYPL has indeed kept the last print edition of each NOAA chart we received, in addition to all of the NY regional charts we've retained over the years.  At the moment, we have no plans to deaccession these charts.

Best, Kate

We did not retain any NOAA charts outside of a certain group of charts covering NY region. We have have more charts outside of the NY region from the Coast Survey and Hydrographic Office, though retention was less than systematic.

Our librarians still make heavy use of the Historical Charts site, and direct researchers to it all of the time.

Greetings,

Does anyone keep old editions of their nautical charts?  We have some for our region, but otherwise just the latest at the time the charts stopped coming on our depository.

Do you just rely on the Office of Coast Survey’s Historical Map & Chart Collection https://historicalcharts.noaa.gov/about.html ?

Contents and use Office of Coast Survey's Historical Map & Chart Collection covers the land and waters of the United States of America, including territories and ...
