Addition about maps of Egypt If your patron is looking for the cadastral survey itself, the set counts not less than 25 200 sheets at scale 1:2500. To my knowledge, the complete set was available only at the office of the survey of Egypt (Giza), and you must use the 1:50 000 series as sheet index. For its part, the french Research center - CEDEJ - in Cairo holds about 500 sheets covering the surroundings of Cairo. There is a book of this title which describes the methodologies used to compile the maps, but other than the British Library, I'm having difficulty identifying a library which holds the maps themselves. Maps created during the mid-late 19th century (no later than 1920) documenting the state of irrigation (and roads and railways) prior to or at the beginning of the British occupation, rather than maps produced at later dates, are of interest to the patron. Thank you for any suggestions!!
