Greetings,

I am pleased to announce that registration for the 2017 WAML annual meeting is now open! The conference will be held November 2-4 at the University of Texas in Austin.

Conference registration is $50 ($25 for students). Register here: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/waml2017.html

Preconference Workshop
I am also very excited to announce a preconference workshop: "Map Cataloging Basics with Paige Andrew." The workshop is planned for November 1 from 1pm to 5pm in the Perry-Castaņeda Library Map Room at the University of Texas. This half-day basic maps cataloging workshop will primarily delve into three descriptive areas of the bibliographic record that need the most attention when cataloging sheet maps. Recognized throughout the profession as an authority in map cataloging, Paige Andrew is the Map Cataloging Librarian at Pennsylvania State University. In 2016, the ALA Association for Library Collections and Technical Services named Paige the recipient of the Margaret Mann Citation award in recognition of his outstanding professional achievements and contributions to cataloging. Cost: $20 ($10 for students).

Workshop registration is an add-on option on the conference registration page. Those that wish to attend the workshop but are not able to attend the full conference have the option to register for the preconference only.

Banquet
Join us for dinner at Clay Pit<http://www.claypit.com/>! WAML Conference Participants are invited to dine with us over a delicious, pre-set, family-style meal on Thursday evening. Vegetarian, vegan, and Halal options will be available.
