Subject: [ISHMap-List] Thefts from Pittsburgh's Carnegie Library

The Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh has just announced that 314 book and maps have been stolen.

Although this was noticed about a year ago, it has only just been publicised.

There is a 7-page PDF list, which I have not had time to trawl through, but the Map Room blog notes that it "includes maps by Hondius, Jefferys, Ogilby and Ortelius, as well as two copies of the Italian translation of Ptolemy’s /Geography/."
