The JOG count of approximately 9,791 is complete theoretical coverage of the world’s landmass.  Many of those maps were never produced. 

Land Info has assembled 5,180 of these maps and makes them available very affordably to academic institutions.  Anyone who wishes to receive an index of the coverage may contact me directly.

It’s likely that a few hundred more of these maps exist and could be acquired with additional time, patience and ingenuity (and money, of course).
