Kirna,

I don't have any experience moving them, so I can't address that. But, we did build them into our building. One thing I found was that the engineer and architect did not grasp just how heavy the units were. If you don't want a cracked foundation or floor get good estimates of the weight and make sure they understand that. Microfiche cabinets were another unit they just don't understand the weight of.

Subject: experience with moving a compact storage shelving unit?

Hi all,

There are plans to move our map library (till now in its own location on campus) into the main library. The compact storage shelving units will have to move with us. Does anybody have experience with that? Who did the move? How did it turn out?

Thanks,

Krina
