We cataloged our "fairly" large collection of Newsmaps a few years ago and yes, used the UNT collection for guidance too. Thanks for sharing what you found Linda!

Subject: World War II Newsmaps

Hello,

In working my way through our collection, I have discovered some World War II Newsmaps. If you are not aware of it, the University of North Texas has a collection of them scanned and available online: https://digital.library.unt.edu/explore/collections/NMAP/.

If you have some of these in your collections, you might want to check them against the ones at UNT. It turns out that the two I have found so far are not exactly the same as the ones at UNT--the maps are different.

Surprisingly, they are printed on paper that seems to have held up over the years. Linda Zellmer

P.S. I am having our copies scanned so that I can share the digital files with UNT.
