Hi Folks, CWU is looking for a new Associate Dean for Brooks Library. The position has been revised and I think it would be a good fit for anyone who has knowledge and oversight of unique collections and operations such as government publications and maps since they will have some oversight of those areas. This position offers an extraordinary opportunity for a passionate, energetic, inspiring, skilled, and experienced librarian to join in leading a vibrant, exciting, and user-driven physical and virtual center for teaching, learning, and research. Reporting to Dean of Libraries, and working closely with faculty and staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan that will engage the faculty, staff, and students in envisioning dynamic new directions for their libraries. The Associate Dean will have ongoing responsibility for a wide range of senior administrative leadership and management functions, including: assessment, communication, and other senior administrative initiatives, programs, and projects. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of and significant experience in addressing the major challenges facing academic libraries today, including rapid changes in technology and scholarly communication; the storage and delivery of analog and digital information; creative and efficient use of physical spaces; and changing perceptions of their role as campus partners and collaborators, intellectual and community centers, and providers of educational and research services.
