As our maps and aerial photographs are currently part of Special Research Collections, I would love to see applicants in this pool specifically coming to UCSB to research our amazing collections.

How about coming and investigating if our multinational nautical charts can be used for climate change research?   Have an area where you would like to do land-use change analysis?  We can do that for many, many places.

I am pleased to announce that the Ken Karmiole Research Fellowship is now formalized and we are accepting applications. See the link below. You can find the fellowship and Award page under Research from the home page.

UCSB Library is now accepting applications for the Kenneth Karmiole Endowed Research Fellowship, which enables visiting scholars and graduate students to pursue research lasting from one to three months in our Special Research Collections.

One annual fellowship will be awarded in the amount of $5,000 to allow scholars to pursue research in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, visual and performing arts, and/or UCSB history. The deadline to apply is Dec. 15, 2019.

If you know of any individuals who may be interested in applying or any groups or listservs you are on that may want to spread the word, feel free to share the information about the fellowship now available on our website, including a general announcement you can copy language from.
