OCLC will sponsor an Expert Cataloging Community Sharing Session at the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday, 2020 January 24, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon in the Pennsylvania
Convention Center, Nutter Theater (on the 100 Level).
The Expert Cataloging Community Sharing Session (formerly known as the Enhance and Expert Community Sharing Session) is a forum for questions and answers concerning cataloging in WorldCat and for the exchange of
information among OCLC Metadata Quality staff and cataloging members of the OCLC cooperative.
Questions from the floor are always welcome, but if you have specific topics you would like us to discuss, you may forward them to us at

[log in to unmask] if you would like to volunteer to take notes at the session.
Although advance registration for the Expert Cataloging Community Sharing Session is NOT required, you may register at the
Eventbrite link. While you are there, you may also register for many other OCLC sessions at ALA.
Also of particular interest to the OCLC Expert Cataloging Community are the OCLC Hot Topics sessions on “Improving WorldCat Quality,” a fifteen-minute presentation on how OCLC’s Duplicate Detection and Resolution
(DDR) software has evolved to eliminate more bibliographic duplicates in WorldCat. Jay Weitz, Senior Consulting Database Specialist, will present the session twice, 10:30-10:45 a.m. on both Saturday, January 25, and Sunday, January 26, at the OCLC Booth 1541
in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Advance registration for the OCLC Hot Topics sessions is NOT required.
In addition, OCLC staff will be demonstrating and discussing many OCLC services in our Booth 1541 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Please plan to visit us there, too. For a full list of OCLC events at Midwinter,
