Good evening,

For anyone giving presentations and(or) helping students/researchers with Earth change, this new tool may be of interest –

USGS news release, April 15, 2021:

“USGS Landsat Satellites Enable Google to Portray Global Change”

https://www.usgs.gov/news/usgs-landsat-satellites-enable-google-portray-global-change

“USGS Landsat satellite data and imagery are the key foundation for the newly released Google Earth 3D Timelapse tool. The upgraded Timelapse presents a global, zoomable time-lapse video of the planet from 1984 to 2020.”

Additional USGS tools I use during research consultations include:

USGS EROS image of the week: https://eros.usgs.gov/image-gallery/image-of-the-week

USGS EROS archive:

Also, if you receive Lidar questions in your library, this news from April 13, 2021 may be of interest:

Additionally, this came up recently when I was helping someone looking for examples of how USGS survey data can be used, and for anyone that enjoys dinosaur movies – “The Good Dinosaur” : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1979388/

Kind regards,

Emily
