A few things I spotted (this is in reference to https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/extent/ for anybody new to the discussion):

  * I think the formatting for “MARC 034 field (hemisphere[+/-]-DD)” should have leading zeroes for numbers <100, so the current ##$d-98.6201$e-92.3359$f+44.0908$g+41.2812 should instead be ##$d-098.6201$e-092.3359$f+044.0908$g+041.2812, following the examples given here<https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd034.html> (LC).
  * I think the two double-pound symbols (##) at the beginning of “MARC 034 field (hemisphere-DMS)” and “MARC 034 field (hemisphere[+/-]-DD)” could be dropped.
  * In the MARC 255 formatting, I think the leading zeroes in the east and west bounds should be dropped, so the current ǂc (W 098°37'12"--W 092°20'09"/N 44°05'26"--N 41°16'52") should instead be ǂc (W 98°37'12"--W 92°20'09"/N 44°05'26"--N 41°16'52"), following the examples given here<https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd255.html> (LC) and here<https://www.oclc.org/bibformats/en/2xx/255.html> (OCLC).

(Somebody please check my work!)

Thank you—
Tim

Subject: Extent Updated seeking assistance (bounding box replacement)

Extent Update

1) The base map choices have been added (lower right)

2) Can anyone look at the MARC layouts in Extent and give feedback? Do any of the formats require MARC leading zeros?

3) Coordinates must be entered in order of W, E, N ,S to validate, so something like -100,-90,36,28 (when you click on "coordinates," the search button says not valid but once you enter in coordinates such as this example, the buttons refreshes to valid)

Anything else??
