Map Librarian/Cataloguer – Contract 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Salary: £30,877 per annum

About the role

Working closely with the Library Collections Operations Team lead in the preparation of Library geological map collections for relocation. The material selected for includes map series and monographic maps, both modern and older maps. The purpose of the project is to audit and barcode the maps to ensure that we have an accurate inventory of the library geological map collections prior to the move. The process will enhance discoverability and enable electronic circulation and tracking of the collection.

The Map Librarian will audit the map collection, create new records and make amendments to ensure that the material is discoverable and retrievable across all locations. You will also be involved in assisting with the disposal of parts of the topographic map collections in order for the remaining topographic map collection to be consolidated.
