We are looking to hire a motivated, collegial, and forward-looking information professional to join our team of STEM librarians, working collaboratively to support undergraduates, graduate and professional school students, faculty and researchers in the physical sciences, engineering, computer science, and related interdisciplinary institutes and centers. The Learning & Engagement Librarian – STEM will work both in partnership with STEM subject librarians and independently, with a focus on science and data literacy and on developing science students’ research competencies. Reporting to the Head of Research & Learning STEM, Business & Economics, they will actively engage with programs and departments on campus that support student academic, writing, and research efforts in STEM areas, foster connections to the library, and find ways to partner with them to enrich students’ learning and experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS; educational background in the physical, engineering or computer sciences, and experience in an academic or research environment preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; great follow-through; the ability to work effectively in teams and small groups; demonstrated experience and enthusiasm in providing science information and education services; strong commitment to outreach and collaboration; familiarity with core research resources, tools, and methods in the sciences; and interest in emerging technologies and social media.

Also near completion is the Irving Institute for Energy and Society, with cross-disciplinary connections to Dartmouth’s departments of Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences, Geography, the Thayer School of Engineering, and the Tuck School of Business.
