October 2022 OCLC Virtual AskQC Office Hours Invitation

At the June 2022 OCLC Cataloging Community Meeting, we were quick to pick up on the fact that catalogers wanted more of the lowdown on FAST.  Expeditiously, this month we’re responding with “411 on FAST: The what, why, and how of Faceted Application of Subject Terminology (FAST).”  Join us as Shanna Griffith and Cynthia Whitacre run through the basics of FAST.  Shanna and Cynthia will be joined by FAST developer Kerre Kammerer and our AskQC colleague Bryan Baldus to answer your questions about FAST during the Q&A.

The Virtual AskQC Office Hours session will be presented live twice to accommodate a wide swath of time zones:  First on Tuesday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, and a second time on Thursday, October 20, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.  Please note that each of these times is Eastern Time in the United States.  Please adjust for your own time zone.

Topic and registration information is available for these two October 2022 VAOH presentations and for the remaining 2022 Office Hours.  On the Previous AskQC Office Hours page, you may also access the recordings, slides, and Q&A from past VAOH presentations.  When you register, you will receive an email reminder before your chosen session along with a link to the WebEx event.  All Virtual AskQC Office Hours are available from OCLC at no charge.

Everyone is welcome.
