Reminder message:
Everyone is invited to join us Friday, 3 February 2023, for our semi-annual OCLC cataloging community meeting. During this virtual event, a panel of cataloging community members and OCLC staff will provide updates on current topics of interest, including recent and upcoming initiatives to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in library metadata; advance cataloging workflows; and enhance WorldCat metadata quality. As we’ve done in the past, we’ll start with a DEI panel, then move into presentations on cataloging product and services, winding up with metadata quality topics. Q&A will be part of each segment.
This free event will provide ample opportunity for engagement with the panelists, OCLC staff, and amongst the greater cataloging community. We encourage questions and interaction from all attendees! Community presenters include:
Diana Reid, Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian / Assistant Professor, University of Louisville
Pamela Louderback, Professor/Broken Arrow Library Director, Northeastern State University
Patricia Harpring, Managing Editor, Getty Vocabulary Program, Getty Research Institute
Sara Levinson, Latin American and Iberian Cataloger, Resource Description & Management, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
TJ Kao, Head of Metadata Creation, University of California, Davis
