----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Debbie, note how your question about old and potentially irreplaceable maps falls on deaf ears. I propounded here about 3 months ago how a library with nearly no $$$ could preserve the INFORMATION CONTENT of old maps for $2 per map for 5 years while they figured out what they really wanted to do. NO ONE TOOK ME UP ON IT. I guess folks really don't care about the info content of old maps. Maybe the best thing is just to auction them to collectors and use the proceeds to fund the retirement fund. Dave Dave Gomberg, role model for those who don't ask much in their fantasy lives.
