Debbie, note how your question about old and potentially irreplaceable
maps falls on deaf ears.  I propounded here about 3 months ago how a
library with nearly no $$$ could preserve the INFORMATION CONTENT of
old maps for $2 per map for 5 years while they figured out what they
really wanted to do.  NO ONE TOOK ME UP ON IT.  I guess folks really
don't care about the info content of old maps.  Maybe the best thing
is just to auction them to collectors and use the proceeds to fund the
retirement fund.   Dave
