----------------------------Original message---------------------------- [Please post to maps-l. It also was listed on gis-l.] The National Geo-Data Policy Forum was held in early May, 1993. Nearly 750 attendees spent three days debating various policy concerns related to the development and evolution of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). Issues such as public access, data fees, copyright, liability, privacy, and roles of government and the private sector were discussed in plenary, panel, and small group sessions. The final session of the Forum provided a synopsis and summary of key points and a discussion on necessary steps to move forward most productively in building the NSDI. Participants expressed a desire to continue the dialogue begun at the Forum. To that end, a meeting has been scheduled for Saturday July 24, 1993 in Atlanta, Georgia, from 12 noon to 5 pm, and continuing Sunday, July 25 from 8:30 am to 12 noon. >>> Discussions at the meeting will focus on the roles of various sectors and organizations in developing the NSDI. <<< This meeting will immediately precede the URISA'93 Conference in Atlanta July 25-29.
