Several messages about the meaning(s) of landhook.---------Johnnie --------------------------------------------- [log in to unmask] Sat, 06 Nov 1993 20:44:13 -0230 RE: landhook A "Landhook" is a symbol used on cadastral maps to indicate common ownership of two parcels of land. These parcels maybe separated by a natural feature like a road or a river. The symbol looks kind of like a "Z" which is stretched from top to bottom, but may appear in any orientation. . -------------------------------------------------- In my earlier reply, I ended with "... in any orientation." I should have said "usually perpendicular to the feature it's crossing." Sorry, my fingers got ahead of my brain. -- Gary E. There are "double hooks" that perform a symbolization function to join parcels of the same subdivision that have over time become seperated... The things you learn dizitizing!!!
