Chris and Greg:  I strongly disagree that GIS software is likely to
require lots of handholding.   Most folks can operate a vending machine
today.  Street Atlas USA Version 2 is no more difficult.  I was able
to print out several maps and exhaust a tour thru the features without
ever reading a manual and only a couple of quick glances at the help.
You can see from this product that one with greatly increased functionality
need not be harder to use.  I will agree that lots of products are hard to
use, but that does not mean they have to be.   Just that we need to insist
on easy-to-use products for casual users.
