I have combined these two messages from Dave Gomberg into one message.---- -------------Johnnie ------------------------------------------------ Thu, 02 Dec 93 11:55:50 PST Dave Gomberg <GOMBERG@UCSFVM> Re: DOQ Problem As far as DOQ sample performance is concerned, I ran on a 486DX66 (not DX2) and used a ET4000 generic display board. For that specific disk, I don't think it matters much, as the display is not the limiting factor. The performance with the above configuration was close to snappy. Dave --------------------- Thu, 02 Dec 93 11:53:46 PST Dave Gomberg <GOMBERG@UCSFVM> Re: DOQ Problem I have read the Olmstead County disk successfully using the software supplied. Since it is a demo, only, I would not suggest using general purpose viewing software to look at the images. The main point of this disk is to talk about compression algorithms and ask how much loss as map consumers we can afford. Dave Gomberg, role model for those who don't ask much in their fantasy lives.
