Shortly before the holidays, a faculty member gave me a FAX that he'd
received concerning "The Computer Atlas of Russia". The fax was from Ted
Murphy of Caribou Ventures Ltd., 4-846 Marion Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba,
Canada R2J 0K4 (FAX no. 204-237-0994). In the fax he notes that the atlas
was produced by the Russian Academy of Sciences. He lists the cost as
$500.00 (CAN), but a demonstration diskette is available for $9.95 (CAN).
The system requirements are given as IBM XT/AT or higher, 640K memory,
ega/vga, video adapter, DOS 3.0 or higher, 12 MB HD space required. It
sounded familiar, and I thought that someone may have posted a note about
it earlier. There were two pages of descriptive information, as well.
Has anyone tried this out either in full form or on the demonstration
diskette? Would you be willing to comment?
        Thanks,
          Alberta
