----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Another comment on the Columbia exhibit. Could the maps in the exhibit be scanned for publication ion a CD-ROM. The technology is getting cheaper by the year, and given the reviews of Microsoft's CD-ROM containing approximately 2000 paintings, the exhibit and its value to map historians would be greatly magnified. The limits of geography (time and space) would be overcome and the works shared more widely. If not possible, is there a possibility that some aspect of the display could be shared via network - as suggested? Grady Meehan George Mason University [log in to unmask]
