Wilson call for participation in accreditation teleconference A teleconference to prepare librarians and other information professionals to implement the 1992 Standards for Accreditation of Master's Programs in Library and Information Studies is scheduled for September 8, 1994, hosted by the American Library Association (ALA) Committee on Accreditation (COA) and the H. W. Wilson Foundation. The Committee on Accreditation (COA) invites individuals from the American Library Association (ALA) and other library and information associations to participate in a teleconference explaining the accreditation process under the 1992 Standards. This interactive seminar will be downlinked to numerous locations throughout North America to make it accessible to a diverse group of librarians, educators and information professionals. Facilitators will be available at each designated site to field questions, promote discussion, and provide additional information and materials. Participants will learn how to serve as chairs and members of the External Review Panels. These panel members review and evaluate master's programs seeking accreditation under the 1992 standards. Applications are due May 1, 1994 and the program is scheduled for September 8,1994. This teleconference is an exciting opportunity for the library and information community. This technology will reach a larger and more diverse audience of participants in the new accreditation process than in the past.
