I got a copy of it a couple of weeks ago and, unfortunately, I haven't had
enough time to study it thoroughly. I did scan through it and it looks quite
broad in scope. I believe your need for Oblique Stereographic details is
included. I don't see anything pertaining to Mercator Stereographic (if
that's what you want?) although the publication does describe Mercator (and
includes its history, WOW). Finally, almost all of the 30 different
projection types include formulae for x/y - long/lat conversions. All in
all, I think it's definitely worth the 32 bucks and the three week wait.
