I've been lurking on this list for almost a year and although my
teaching area is broadcasting, I have a great interest in maps,
geography, etc.
To that end, I was hoping someone could help me with something I
saw last month when I was in Nevada for a convention. South of Las Vegas
on US-95 there was a sign for a "USGS Lorain station." Off to the east
were a number of antennas (about five total). Distance was hard to tell
since it was getting dark, but they appeared to be 500-750 feet tall.
This was near a small town named "Cal-Nev-Ari."
You can email me privately to save bandwidth on this list if
you'd like.

Thanks,
