----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Barbara Bond (now of Hydrographic Charts, Taunton, UK) had an article in the Map Collector about 10 years ago. The MC has an index that would locate it but mine is out of reach at present. If there has been other work I'd be interested in learning of it. I have recently come across some S. African cotton maps of Boer War vintage that I'd like to know more about! She is interested in their use, design, what went into their development, the problems encountered with printing on both sides, etc. What is frustrating is that I remember reading/hearing something about these maps re the above questions but sometime in the last 20+ years. Needless to say, I can't remember where I saw it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am crossposting this between Mapsl and Maphist. My apologies for any duplication.
