The collection may also be worth investigating for those interested in states adjacent to New York, since it includes a number of famous early maps showing the entire Northeast. Examples are Blaeu's _Nova Belgica et Anglia Nova_ (1635) and Jefferys' _Map of the Most Inhabited Part of New England_ (1755). The address of the URL is: http://www.sunysb.edu/libmap/nymaps.htm The maps are in JPEG format and average 300 kb in size. It will require an Internet connection with a graphics interface (such as Mosaic or Netscape) and more than a minimal amount of RAM to view them.
