Don't know about the move, but have you seen the note in ACML
Bulletin 40?  Says code is from the word CUMBERLAND.  Usually at the bottom left
corner of each map are some letters.  Substitute 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 for
letters of the world CUMBERLAND for the month and year of publication.
For example, L.BR means the map was published in the 7th month of
[19]46.
 
A fair number of pieces of decoding such as this exist in published and
unpublished form.  Larry Cruse at UCSD is thinking about posting them on
the WAML or UC/Stanford Map Librarians Group web pages, but may be
running into difficulty.  Could this invaluable info be posted
elsewhere?  Any volunteers?
