You might take a look at the brand new hot of the assembly like Epson color
ink jet printers which can print color images at a resolution of 1440 dpi.
There are two models, the Stylus Color 600 and the Stylus Color 800 they
run about $300 and $450 respectively.  I'm sure at these resolutions the
color printing time per page is S...L...O...W but you get a great image for
alot less than a color plotter or color laser printer.
