----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We have a patron looking for topographic coverage of an island off the north coast of Sumatra, Pulau Weh. The best we can do is an old AMS lettered series 1:250,000 map (sheet # NB46-12). I see that the Indonesian govt. has covered Sumatra at 1:50K, but these are apparently restricted. (It looks from the index that he'd want 2 sheets, 0431-53 and 0431-54). Does anyone have any topographic coverage of this island at a scale larger than 1:250,000? Age isn't so important, since he's interested in the physical characteristics of the island. I can have him get in touch with you and maybe get at least a photocopy or work something else out. Or, if a vendor monitoring this list has something, the patron would be interested in purchasing the map(s). Also, I didn't find evidence of any old AMS WWII series covering that area at better than 1:250,000, at least not in the indexes or series that we have. thanks, Mark ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mark Thomas | Yet there's not a train I Perkins Library, Duke University | wouldn't take 919-660-5853 / FAX: 919-684-2855 | No matter where it's going [log in to unmask] | --Edna St. Vincent Millay
