Last, for the USGS folks, I am wondering if there is a mechanism
whereby inaccuracies on maps are reported, filed, etc.?

Peg:  In response to your concern, and for general information, the USGS
does have a process for correcting map inaccuracies. Both production
Centers (Rollo, MO. & Denver CO.) maintain a folio correction file for the
maps in their region.  These corrections are then validated and if found to
be appropriate, applied during the maintenance and re-publication
process. To submit a folio correction one merely needs to contact us at
the address located at the bottom of the map....we appreciate your
