----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Since the subject of National Geographic was raised, I wanted to mention that National Geographic maps are now being distributed commercially by GeoSystems. In addition, we are publishing new products in conjunction with them, the first being the National Geographic Road Atlas. Information and catalogs are available from: GeoSystems 11a Mount Auburn Street Cambridge, MA 02138 800-626-4655 The maps are available from distributors such as Map Link and Omni Resources. For your info, National Geographic Maps, formerly the NGS Cartographic Division, is now part of National Geographic Ventures, a for profit subsidiary of the Society, which also includes NG Television (TV shows and video) and NG Interactive (CD-ROMs and web site). In addition to its new publishing alliance with GeoSystems, this year NG Maps acquired Trails Illustrated, a publisher of topographic maps focusing on National Parks. GeoSystems (http://www.geosys.com) is a provider of cartographic services and products to a variety of publishers, and operates the internet site MapQuest. Our publishing operation includes the National Geographic titles, and wall maps and map-related products of Interarts, a company we acquired last year.
