Doesn't the Washington meridian run through the marker on the Ellipse
south of the White House and that should be on the USGS quad.  As I
recall, there's an obelisk (much shorter than the famous, very tall one,
shorter even than I -- 5'7" at last count on Monday last week at my
doctor's office -- maybe 30 -36 inches high).  The same monument serves
as the 0 milestone for distances from Washington DC if my memory isn't
totally fried.
