Jennie,
Try art and/or drafting supply places for spiffy plastic tubes for carrying rolled paper.
Cheers,

Hi colleagues on Maps-L: Another department on campus is interested in
purchasing plastic carrying tubes.
We save the cardboard tubes from maps which we receive and recycle them for
our map checkout. I prefer the 3 to 4 inch diameter tubes the best since we
don't have to roll the maps so tightly--but these are few and far between.
I checked my supply catalogs but could not find anything on mailing tubes.
I know that UPS and Federal Express have nice triangular ones but they are of
cardboard. This department really wanted to get plastic ones.
Recently, a patron of ours had a beautiful plastic tube, about 3"-4" in
diameter which was even adjustable in length (although his was probably maximum
30" long). I asked where he got it. Answer: In Italy -- and at a reasonable
price but some time ago." He did not know which company made them.
Can anyone give me information about this matter -- for my own files but
also to send on to this department.
Thanks in advance for your help. Jennie/Maps
