----------------------------Original message---------------------------- The University of Connecticut Libraries is offering an exciting employment opportunity: Title: Catalog Librarian and Liaison for Natural Resources and Plant and Animal Sciences Rank: University Librarian I or II Salary Group: UCP 5 or 7 JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Area Head for Collections Services as a member of one or more self-managing teams responsible for cataloging and database activities, the incumbent provides leadership in the intellectual control of spatial data using established and emerging standards and technologies, and provides reference and liaison services to library users. The incumbent participates in the development and implementation of standards, policies, and procedures for the creation and editing of cataloging records in machine-readable formats for library materials; performs original and complex adaptive cataloging of spatial data in a variety of formats; and serves as a resource for other catalogers in defining, documenting, and implementing local cataloging standards and workflows. Serves as the cataloging team resource person in the area of spatial information. Participates in the Library's Academic Liaison Program, including the collection development, reference, and instructional aspects of the program, as liaison to university programs in Natural Resources Engineering and Management, Plant Sciences, and Animal Sciences.
