Port Ivory on Staten Island, is not really a community, but an old
industrial area, which some folk have settled near. named for Ivory
Soap, and based on old Proctor and Gamble property I think. Alice

Jim Coombs asked on Dec.9 about company towns named for the company. I
don't know of a general list, but I do know one such city. Kohler,
Wisconsin is the company town of the Kohler Company, which makes top of
the line bathtubs, sinks, spas, etc. Terra Hangen
