There can be different methods to explain cartographic concepts, "traditional" and/or computer games, experiences of teachers using software and/or Web, experiences on the preparation of atlases and maps for children, other activities related to understanding maps for children, etc. A small exhibition area will be available for those participants interested to present their researches or activities on this way. If you present a practical activity, the abstract should describe the concepts to be illustrated, the type of location the activity should take place in, the length of time required, ideal number of participants, details of any materials to use (e.g., paper, slide projector, overhead viewer, computer overhead, hardware and software requirements, etc) Proceedings will be produced following the Conference. Abstracts specifications are similar to those of the ICA Ottawa and CCWG Montreal 1999: - Language: English - 200 - 350 words - A4 format (21 x 29,7 cm), with 4cm top and bottom margins and 3 cm left and right margins (8,5 x 11 inch, with 1 inch top and bottom margins with 1inch left and right margins) - Font: Times New Roman, 12 point. - Center the title in bold capital letters as the first item, followed by a vertical space and then the name(s) of the author(s). Type the affiliation address (typed as it should appear on a mailing envelope) immediately below each author's name. Immediately below the last line, if available, telephone/fax number, e-mail address and/or a Web-address. The telephone and fax numbers should include the country and region codes e.g., +36 (1) 209-0555 / 6721. - After skipping two lines, the body of the abstract should be typed with single spacing and no indentation for paragraphs. There should be no indentation for paragraphs, although space should be left between paragraphs, and the text should be left justified. The abstract may be sent as a paper document (snail mail, airmail or faxed) to the organising committee (address below) or electronically within a regular e-mail document or as a WORD 6 or WORD 97 attachment.
