Help Welcome the New International Students
Join the Office of International Student Life as they welcome the new
incoming international students with an ice cream/pool social. Now that you
have been "southernized" (for those of you not from the south), you can
help the new students experience some good old fashioned friendly southern
hospitality as they try to adjust to living in the US. Don't miss your
chance to meet somebody new at our ice cream/pool social. International
student organizations are encouraged to come! Thursday, August 8 from 7:45
-10:00 p.m. Legion Pool across from the Tate Student Center. Free ice cream
and fun!

Student Quotes
From a student studying abroad in Brussels, Belgium
"Let's face it, I am really far north right now. In fact, the sun does not
even set here until after 10 p.m. and rises around 4:50 a.m. But, despite
the long days, the air never really warms up all that much. Thus, you can
imagine my amazement as we sat along the North Sea coast on Sunday bundled
up in our jackets from the cool 60° sea breeze watching all the Belgians
frolic 95% naked as if they were in the 95° heat of Miami! They grow 'em
strong up here . . ."
From a student studying in Granada, Spain
"Life is different here. People enjoy their lives with a certain spunk that
is incomprehensible to those who have not witnessed it with their own eyes.
Every day is a great day when you're in Spain."
