Scholarships for Study Abroad
Regents Scholarship - Any UGA student studying abroad for academic credit
may apply for the Regents Scholarship. Preference for longer programs,
academic merit, financial need and other factors. Applications for programs
starting in the spring semester are due Nov. 2, 2001. Please see:

Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA) offers scholarships to any currently
enrolled college undergraduate who will be participating in their programs.
Preference is given to students with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The
average dollar amount awarded per scholarship is $700. For more

Program Representative Visit
Dr. Katya Vladimirov from Kennesaw State University will be on campus on
Tuesday, October 30th to meet with students interested in learning more
about the European Council of the University System of Georgia's Summer
Program in St. Petersburg, Russia. The information session will take place
at 3 p.m. in the Tate Student Center room 143.

JET Program Reception
The Consul General of Japan and the southeast chapter of the Japan Exchange
and Teaching Alumni Association will be hosting a JET Program reception on
October 17th from 7 to 9 pm at the Consul General's residence in Atlanta.
The purpose of the reception is to introduce soon-to-be college graduates
to the JET Program: an international exchange and teaching program which
sends young college graduates to Japan to teach English in public
elementary, junior high and senior high schools for one year. For more

and Security will sponsor an open forum on Monday, October 15, titled
"International Students Speak about the War on Terrorism." The event will

Joint Certificate Program with University of Munich
On October 15, the European Union Center of the University System of
Georgia (EUC) is launching a web-based program that will contribute to a
certificate on European Union Studies offered by 26 institutions in the
University System of Georgia. The courses will be taught by instructors in
Georgia and Munich. Georgia students will be able to earn a joint
certificate from their home institution and the University of Munich. For
