Study Abroad Program Representative Visits
***AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR FOREIGN STUDY***
Mr. Fred von Schmeling from the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS)
will be on campus to meet with students interested in learning more about
study abroad opportunities sponsored by AIFS. AIFS has programs in
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France,
Holland, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Russia, South Africa and Spain (see:
http://www.aifs.org/college/). Stop by the Tate Student Center, room 143 on
Thursday, April 11th from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. to get more information on
the various AIFS programs abroad.
Study Abroad Passports Available
Pre-departure orientation booklets called "UGA Study Abroad Passport:
Things to Know Before You Go" are available from the Office of
International Education. This information can be particularly helpful for
students going abroad for a semester or full academic year but summer study
abroad students are welcome to pick one up as well. Come to Barrow Hall and
ask for Deb to get your copy. Copies available while supplies last.

study abroad program's pre-departure orientation program:

Study Abroad Program in Cuernavaca: Mexico (State University of West Georgia)
Pre-departure orientation should be provided by your Program Director.
However, more orientation information is available at

you go on your international trip.

cross between familiarity and unfamiliarity - I saw streets, cars and shops
just like in America, but the cars were all different than those in the
States - usually smaller. The shops, of course, were different and the
