International Student Life Events
1. Reminder & you can still come if you did not sign up! ISL and the
Baptist Student Union
are sponsoring a Thanksgiving Feast with the Baptist Student Union.
Enjoy a feast with all the traditional American trimmings! The feast is
free to all international students and their families! Monday, November
25, 2002 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 p.m. at the Baptist Student Union located
on Lumpkin Street. ALL UGA international students and their families
are welcome to attend.
2. 2002 International Graduates! ISL wants you to know how much we
appreciate your accomplishments and dedication here at UGA. To show our
appreciation we have planned a very special graduation ceremony and
reception just for you and your family on Friday, December 20, 2002 at
3:00 p.m., the Tate Gallery, Room 309, Tate Student Center. The
ceremony is absolutely FREE! However, if you plan to participate, we
need to hear from you now. You have to sign up with the ISL office by
December 5, 2002!.
Office of International Education Announcements
1. Save yourself time and energy during finals. Come to the Office of
International Education, Barrow Hall Room 215 B, December 10th from 9:30
a.m.- 3:30 p.m. to get your travel signatures in minutes, not days! Walk
in on the 10th to have F & J Visa advisors sign your documents, answer
questions, and make sure you are ready to travel. Please call 542-7903
with any questions about signing day.
2. SEVIS Informational Sessions: make sure that you are informed about
new SEVIS (Student Exchange & Information System) policies. The Office
of International Education will be offering SEVIS informational sessions
throughout the spring semester. All F-1 international students will be
required to attend. Please make sure you have your most recent address
up to date with the Oasis System and be looking for more information and
details about your specific information session date in your home
1. If anyone is looking for Thanksgiving plans, someone called the
office today and would like to take two people to their home in Savannah
for Thanksgiving. The deadline for contacting the person is soon --
Tuesday morning. If you are interested (or know someone who might be)
please pass this email along and contact them directly. Happy (early)
This is an invite to any international students who might need a place
to stay for Thanksgiving break, seeing as how the dorms are closed. Two
people can ride with me to sunny Savannah! It will be good fun! You
can meet my family (we are a little crazy, but really nice,) and we can
have a good old American-style Thanksgiving. important details: We will
leave right at 12:30 on Tuesday (tomorrow) return on Saturday night, you
can stay with me and my brother at my friends house here in Athens,
until the dorms open on Sunday. Please respond as soon as possible if
you are interested, I apologize for the late notice. I am looking
