$500 STARS Work Stipends for Study Abroad
If you are planning to study abroad in spring or summer 2004, you are
eligible to apply for a STARS (Students Abroad with Regents Support) Work
Stipend. This $500 award should be used to defray the cost of your planned
study abroad program, but will be paid out at a rate of $7/hr. as you
complete a 71 hour work assignment in the Office of International Education
over the course of the fall semester. The application deadline for this
first award cycle is September 5, 2003. Later in the year, there will be
additional awards cycles for those who wish to work in spring semester and
early summer semester and for those who will be studying abroad in fall
2004 or later. Students may receive up to two awards to work in two
different semesters. To download an application, please go to:

Student Quotes
From a student on the UGA at Oxford Program: "As I had not previously
traveled far from home, I was a little nervous and had conflicting
thoughts, but the teachers were great, the students were awesome, and the
experience was unforgettable."
