Preparation Reminders

Credit Approval Form
If you are going on a non-UGA study abroad program or a UGA exchange
program this summer or fall, you will need to complete a Credit
Approval Form. You must return this completed form to our office at
least 3 weeks before you depart on your program. You can download
the form from our Web site <http://www.uga.edu/oie/satrancred.htm>
or pick it up from our office in 209 Barrow Hall. Instructions for
completion are both on the form and on-line.

Exchange Program Information

What is an exchange?
A student who participates in a UGA exchange essentially takes the
place of a student at a foreign institution. The UGA student takes
classes with the host country faculty and students, thereby becoming
immersed in the culture and language of that country. Exchanges are
usually semester or academic year-long programs. Students pay UGA
in-state tuition and fees for the exchange program and are
responsible for living and traveling expenses. Living arrangements
differ according to the particular partnership. With over 40
partners, UGA has exchange opportunities in Australia, Brazil,
Chile, China, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New
Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the
West Indies.
Students who are looking for cultural and language immersion, as
well as a high level of independence, are encouraged to check out
the UGA exchange programs by visiting
<http://www.uga.edu/oie/saprograms.htm> or the Study Abroad Library
in 203F Barrow Hall.
