GEORGIA ROTARY STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP TO GERMANY

This scholarship is an opportunity for Georgia upperclassmen
that are proficient in German to travel abroad to a German
University.

For more information and The Georgia Rotary Student Program
application form, visit the rotary website www.grsp.org.

Procedure for Submitting the Application is on the website.

 The application papers of the candidates will be sent to
the German Districts for their review and selection, as has
been done in the past.

IEW (International Education Week) SCHOLARSHIP

--Description: $500 scholarship for UGA undergraduates
attending UGA sponsored study abroad or exchange program.
Study Abroad Scholarship funds are raised through the
nationally celebrated International Education Week Event
held each fall semester and matched by the UGA
Foundation.

--Eligibility: 3.3 minimum GPA required and must not have
previously studied abroad for academic credit at the
university level.  Preference will be given for academic
merit, demonstrated financial need, strong record of extra
curricular and service activities, and strong faculty
recommendation.

--Application: The IEW Scholarship application can be
downloaded from the following link -

--Deadline: March 10, 2006

KATHERINE MURPHY SCHOLARSHIP

--Description: $500 scholarship for UGA undergraduates
attending a UGA sponsored study abroad or exchange program.
Study Abroad Scholarships come through support of the Murphy
family to the Katherine Murphy Fund and are matched by the
UGA Foundation.

--Eligibility: 3.3 minimum GPA required and must not have
previously studied abroad for academic credit at the
university level.  Preference given for academic merit,
demonstrated financial need, strong record of extra
curricular and service activities, and strong faculty
recommendation.

--Application: The Katherine Murphy Scholarship application

STARS Worker Stipends

The application deadline for summer term STARS Work Stipends
is March 10th.  Applicants must be willing to complete a
standard work requirement in the Office of International
Education during the summer 2006 semester.

UNO INNSBRUCK AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP

Description:  The University of Georgia, The University of
New Orleans and it's International Summer School believe
strongly that the European educational experiences should be
made available to as many qualified students as possible.
To this end, a limited number of Ambassador
Awards will be made to available UGA undergraduate students
who exhibit high academic achievement, can clearly
demonstrate financial need and whose academic plans would
benefit from program participation.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be a continuing undergraduate,
full or part-time, currently enrolled at UGA and have
completed at least 1 year of college.  Minimum GPA 3.0.
Students must include an official transcript, 2 letters of
recommendation, essay/statement of purpose, and demonstrate
financial need.

FREEMAN-ASIA SCHOLARSHIP

Description:  The Freeman-ASIA Award Program is designed to
support American undergraduates with demonstrated financial
need who are planning on studying overseas in East or
Southeast Asia.  Freeman-ASIA award benefits are determined
by the length of the program and the financial need of the
grantee.

Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent
residents at time of application.  Must currently receive
Need-Based Financial Aid or demonstrate through FAFSA a
verifiable need for financial assistance to study abroad in
Asia. Applicants must have little or no previous experience
in the country in which they plan to study. (must not have
spent more than 4 weeks in proposed country of study within
last 5 years)  Freeman-ASIA Award Program grantees are
expected to share their experiences with their home campuses
to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread
greater understanding of Asian peoples and cultures within
their home communities.

The Bridging Scholarship program will award 50 scholarships
to American students participating in study-abroad programs
in Japan that begin in Fall 2006. Undergraduate students
majoring in any field of study and attending any recognized
exchange or independent program in Japan are eligible to
apply for these scholarships.

MOBILITY INTERNATIONAL USA

Mobility International USA (MIUSA) is currently accepting
applications from young people with disabilities to take
part in an international exchange program August 1-17, 2006,
to Tokyo, Japan, entitled the US/Japan: Cross Cultural
Perspectives on Disability Leadership and Volunteerism
Exchange Program.

Generous partial scholarships available.

 Deadline to apply is March 15, 2006.

We are looking for young people between the ages of 18-24
whom you would recommend. Please encourage them to download
an application from www.miusa.org

The application deadline is March 15, 2006, though late
applications will be accepted as space permits.  Young
people with disabilities from culturally diverse backgrounds
and inexperienced international travelers are encouraged to
apply.

CURO Summer 2006 Research Fellowships

CURO awards Summer Research Fellowships to academically
talented UGA undergraduates who will invest in an intensive
research experience during the summer term.  Successful
applicants receive a financial award and are invited to
present their research at the annual statewide CURO
symposium the following academic year. In order to be
selected for the CURO Summer Research Fellowship, interested
students must have at least a 3.4 GPA with a minimum of one
year of studies at the University of Georgia.

UGA GEOLOGY IN ARGENTINA INFORMATION SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT

The UGA Geology in Argentina Study Abroad Program has
scheduled the Spring Session of informational meetings for
February 8 and February 14, 2006 at the Student Learning
Center (SLC).

Different opportunities to get information will be offered:
an Open House at the Information Table next to Jittery Joe's
Cafeteria at SLC, and formal informational meetings at
specific SLC classrooms.

The schedule for these activities for February 8 and
February 14 follow:

Wednesday February 8, 2006:
Table next to Jittery Joe's Cafeteria Open House: 12 PM -
2:00 PM. Any questions, any time.
Room 0267 SLC Informational Meeting: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM,
program starts every hour.

Tuesday February 14, 2006:
Table next to Jittery Joe's Cafeteria Open House: 12 PM -
3:20 PM. Any questions, any time.
Room 0274 SLC Informational Meeting: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM,
program starts every hour.

UGA Geology in Argentina is a field program for students in
any discipline who love the outdoors. Students can complete
up to 11 credit hours in core or elective science courses
while they travel more than 3,000 miles of rarely seen
landscapes in beautiful Argentina.

UGA in ARMENIA ANNOUNCEMENT (International Business &
Relations)

UGA in Armenia is a 3 week study abroad program in
International Business and Relations. It is an intensive
field trip based program that allows participants to learn
about the economic, social, cultural, historical, religious
and geo-political developments in post-Soviet transition
countries.

Students can earn up to 6 credit hours. Detailed program
